Our company actively utilizes subsidy programs from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of the Environment in its efforts to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. Most recently (since fiscal 2018), we have been selected for eight subsidy programs, as shown in the table.
By utilizing the Energy Conservation Business Operator Support Subsidy from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Omi Plant has introduced a high-performance lime kiln and gas turbine power generation system, while the Shibukawa Plant has installed a high-efficiency boiler. These measures are expected to yield the desired effects at each site. In fiscal 2022, a high-efficiency gas turbine power generation system began operating at the Chiba Plant, contributing to energy conservation.
The project was proposed as a consortium with Kajima Corporation and Takenaka Corporation for the NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) Green Innovation Fund Project "Concrete Manufacturing Technology Development Using CO 2." In this project, we will conduct material development using unused resources that have not yet been effectively utilized as industrial waste, elucidation of CO 2 fixation mechanisms, and development of quality control and fixation amount evaluation methods based on the technology cultivated with our carbonization admixture "LEAF."
Through this project, we aim to achieve and fully disseminate carbon-negative concrete.
In the Ministry of the Environment's "Resource Circulation Promotion Project," we have started a project for the chemical recycling of polystyrene resins, and a chemical recycling plant started operation in the second half of fiscal 2023.
