Denka is addressing global environmental issues based on Responsible Care, an initiative promoted by the global chemical industry. As a chemical manufacturer, Denka exercises strict control over environmental impact and strives to develop innovative technologies to conserve resources and energy.

Environmental Policies

The Denka Group, based on its ESG Basic Policy, is promoting decarbonization management toward the realization of a sustainable society. As measures against global warming, we are advancing CO ₂ reduction efforts with the aim of reducing CO ₂ emissions by 60% from 2013 levels by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
In 2026, when the GX-ETS is scheduled to start, we aim to have each of our employees take actions with heightened environmental awareness, create environmental value through decarbonization, and strengthen product competitiveness, while also effectively utilizing resources, maintaining zero emissions of waste, and considering reducing hazardous waste and used water, thereby gaining the satisfaction and trust of our stakeholders.

Support for the RC World Charter (2014 version)

On December 9, 2014, Denka became a signatory to the Responsible Care Global Charter (2014 version) proposed by the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) and declared its support for and implementation of the principles of Responsible Care together with chemical manufacturers around the world.

Under the "Responsible Care Global Charter," we will promote RC activities covering all processes from raw materials to manufacturing, storage, logistics, use, and disposal to fulfill our social responsibilities, striving to ensure compliance, prevent environmental pollution, and contribute to environmental protection toward the realization of a sustainable society through these efforts.

• The Production Technology Improvement Committee will serve as the axis for promoting the early resolution of technical issues and the exploration of new themes.

• Chiba Plant: Planned reduction of VOC emissions in accordance with the hazard information of chemical substances
