Updated March 2026
Denka accurately grasps the environmental burden substances emitted from the production facilities of group companies and is engaged in ongoing reduction efforts. The substances targeted include greenhouse gases such as CO 2, SOx (sulfur oxides), NOx (nitrogen oxides), particulates, BOD (biochemical oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand), and PRTR (Pollutant Release and Transfer Register) designated substances. In addition, in response to the social issue of marine plastic waste, we are also focusing on the initiatives for reducing plastic waste and recycling it, as stipulated in the Plastic Resource Circulation Promotion Law that came into effect in April 2022.
We are actively introducing removal devices for environmental burden substances, and reducing CO 2 emissions through energy conservation and improving energy efficiency by introducing high-efficiency equipment. Denka complies with self-imposed management standards that are stricter than relevant laws and regulations, and will continue to strive to reduce the emission of environmental burden substances.
