We received a letter of appreciation from Ichihara City.
The Chiba Plant received a letter of appreciation from the city of Ichihara for its cooperation with the city’s Green Curtain Project (the Plant provided 300 bitter gourd seedlings and 200 kg of DENKA AZUMIN).
We received a letter of appreciation from Ichihara City.A "green curtain" is created by growing climbing plants such as bitter gourds and morning glories on a net stretched over a window or wall. The green curtain blocks direct sunlight entering through the window and cools the indoor air by evaporating water from the leaves and absorbing heat from the surroundings.
In Ichihara City, this project has been implemented since 2009 as part of the global warming mitigation measures, and in the current fiscal year, the project was implemented at 62 facilities including nursery schools, elementary and junior high schools, and public facilities. The Chiba Plant provided bitter gourd seedlings and fertilizer to 38 facilities this fiscal year.
Since 2010, the Chiba Plant has been installing curtain-type bitter gourds at the General Office and the Disaster Prevention Center every year to promote energy conservation by enhancing the air conditioning effect.

Picking up litter in the venue
On October 5, about 20 employees from our factory participated in the 9th Kazusa Ichihara National Government Festival held at Kazusa Sarashina Park and other venues.
As part of our volunteer activities to contribute to the local community, we helped with litter picking and sorting waste at the waste stations. At first glance, there did not seem to be any litter in the venue, but when we looked at the roadside planters, we found a lot of litter scattered around. Although we only worked for about an hour, we were able to collect about 2-3 bags of litter.
Picking up litter in the venueAfter the volunteer activity, we participated in the "Ichihara Ootukurikai".
This event is a spectacular tournament in which the city of Ichihara is divided into four regions: east, west, south, and north, and tug-of-war is performed with about 250 people as one team. Since our factory is located in the Goi area, we challenged the competition as a member of the northern army. When the match began, all participants were seen pulling the rope with single-minded devotion for the victory of the team. The northern army won the first round, but unfortunately lost in the final and came in second.
