We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders for your continued support.
In recent years, amid a high level of uncertainty in the international situation, there is increasing emphasis on the solving of global social issues by companies. At the same time, ESG investment is also increasing in financial markets, and companies are being asked to respond in a wide variety of ways towards the realization of a sustainable society.
The Denka Group has established the Denka Group ESG Basic Policy as a basic policy for addressing sustainability issues. In addition, in our management plan Mission 2030, which started in fiscal year 2023, we are promoting three growth strategies—business value creation, human resource value creation, and management value creation—linked to our materiality (important management issues), and are working to pursue sustainability and strengthen our management base in our business activities.
On the other hand, in the case of the SDGs, we have clarified the connection between the 17 Goals of the SDGs and the Targets (achievement criteria) in the "contribution to a sustainable society" that we aim to achieve through the attainment of the Mission 2030 goals.
Particularly for us in the chemical industry, our efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 are not merely a fulfillment of our social responsibilities; they are indispensable for continuing our business into the future.
As part of these efforts, in 2025, we will formulate our Denka GX Roadmap in response to CO 2 emissions trading becoming mandatory with the GX League from 2026, and steadily implement this roadmap.
Furthermore, as part of the implementation of the important policy of creating human resource value, "Promotion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion," we are working to create a workplace with a high level of psychological safety through the holding of town hall meetings and other initiatives. In addition, through panel discussions with female managers and support for employees raising children together with working spouses, we will create an environment in which each employee with diverse ways of thinking can demonstrate their abilities and foster a corporate culture that can create major innovations.
Denka will continue to contribute to people's daily lives and society through our world-class chemistry under our Purpose of "Making the world a better place as specialists in chemistry." We sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and support.
